Hollywood Smile

A Hollywood Smile considers every aspect of your smile to create a balanced, radiant result that is designed for your face. This is premium Hollywood Smile dentistry, not a one-size-fits-all look, but an outcome designed entirely around you.
Treatment Process
A clear, step-by-step overview of how treatment is planned and delivered, from the initial consultation through to the final result, supporting comfort, safety, and predictable outcomes.
-
01 — Consultation & Digital Smile Design

An oral examination, X-rays, and advanced 3D scanning are carried out to assess the health and structure of your teeth. We discuss your smile goals and aesthetic preferences in detail, followed by a digital preview that allows you to visualise your new smile before treatment begins.
-
02 — Tooth Preparation
Minimal enamel reshaping is performed carefully according to the selected veneer type, with a no-preparation option available for Lumineers. Digital scanning technology captures highly accurate measurements, supporting a precise and natural fit.
-
03 — Mock-Up Preview
Temporary mock-ups are used to assess both aesthetics and function before final fabrication. Shape, length, and shade can be adjusted in real time to align with your expectations and facial characteristics.
-
04 — Fabrication
Your veneers are individually fabricated from high-quality E.max ceramic, zirconia, or Lumineers at certified laboratories using advanced CAD/CAM technology. They are then carefully hand-finished to achieve natural depth, translucency, and lustre.
-
05 — Fitting & Bonding
The temporary try-in allows the fit, comfort, and aesthetics to be assessed before permanent bonding. Once approved, the veneers are permanently bonded using high-strength dental resin to support secure, long-term integration. Final bite adjustments and aesthetic refinements are completed carefully to achieve optimal balance and function.

What Is a Hollywood Smile?
A Hollywood Smile is a comprehensive aesthetic rehabilitation of both dental arches, a coordinated, multidisciplinary treatment plan designed to transform the overall appearance of the smile rather than treat individual teeth in isolation. It is not a single procedure. It is a clinical framework in which the right combination of treatments is selected, sequenced, and delivered as one unified plan designed around the patient’s facial structure, oral health, and aesthetic goals.
Depending on the individual case, a Hollywood Smile at Diamond Smile may combine porcelain veneers, ceramic crowns, professional teeth whitening, periodontal contouring, or orthodontic preparation. Each treatment is selected not only for its individual result, but also for its contribution to the final harmonious outcome. The sequence and combination are determined through a structured Digital Smile Design process before any irreversible treatment begins.

Treatment Components
A Hollywood Smile is not a fixed menu of procedures. It is a tailored combination determined by clinical assessment. The following treatments are commonly included in a comprehensive smile makeover plan at Diamond Smile. Each treatment has its own information page with full clinical detail; this page focuses on how they work together as a coordinated plan.
Component 01 — Porcelain Veneers
Ultra-thin ceramic shells are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to adjust shape, length, shade, and minor misalignment. Veneers are the primary restorative component in most Hollywood Smile cases, focused on the visible area of the upper front teeth. Lithium disilicate (E.max) and feldspathic ceramic are among the most commonly used materials, selected according to translucency requirements and the depth of tooth preparation.
Component 02 — Ceramic Crowns
Full-coverage restorations are used when the tooth structure is insufficient for a veneer, commonly after extensive previous restorations, root canal treatment, or significant structural damage. Zirconia and lithium disilicate crowns provide strength and aesthetics, and are made to harmonise with adjacent veneers for a seamless result. In a Hollywood Smile plan, crowns and veneers are shade-matched and designed together.
Component 03 — Professional Teeth Whitening
When natural teeth are retained alongside veneers or crowns, professional whitening establishes the target shade before ceramic restorations are fabricated. This sequence is clinically important: ceramic shade is permanent, so the shade of adjacent natural teeth should be stabilised first. Whitening is not performed after ceramic restorations have been bonded, so treatment sequence matters.
Component 04 — Gum Contouring
Uneven or excessive gum display can significantly affect smile proportions, regardless of tooth quality. Laser gum contouring or surgical crown lengthening reshapes the gum line to reveal the correct tooth-length proportions and achieve symmetry across the smile zone.
Component 05 — Orthodontic Preparation
When teeth are significantly misaligned relative to the ideal smile design, orthodontic treatment may be completed before restorative work. This can help preserve tooth structure by reducing the amount of preparation required for veneers or crowns, while ensuring that the final restorations are positioned optimally for both aesthetics and bite function. At Diamond Smile, this is assessed on a case-by-case basis and recommended only when it offers a clearly better long-term result.
Component 06 — Digital Smile Design (DSD)
DSD is the planning technology that makes coordinated treatment possible. Images and videos of the patient’s face, lips, and teeth are integrated into a digital model, allowing the dentist to design a target smile that fits the proportions of the entire face before treatment begins.
Hollywood Smile Compared with Individual Treatments
Patients who address aesthetic concerns through individual treatments, such as veneers or whitening alone, may find that the results of each treatment are not fully consistent with one another. The comparison below illustrates the clinical and practical differences between a coordinated comprehensive smile makeover plan and isolated treatments, based on published outcome data.
| Criteria | Hollywood Smile (Coordinated Plan) | Individual Treatment (for example, veneers alone) | No Treatment / Temporary Approach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full Smile Zone coverage | Yes — all visible teeth are planned as one unified composition. | Partial — only selected individual teeth are treated. | No — underlying concerns remain. |
| Gum-line correction | Included when clinically indicated. | Rarely addressed alongside restorative work. | Not addressed. |
| Shade consistency | All restorations are shade-matched together. | Risk of mismatch with existing teeth. | Natural variation remains. |
| Treatment sequencing | Clinically correct sequencing is planned. | Sequencing errors are common in piecemeal treatment. | Not applicable. |
| Digital preview | Complete DSD simulation before any treatment is undertaken. | Sometimes available, but not always. | No preview. |
| Facial proportion alignment | Midline, symmetry, and lip proportions are considered. | Focuses on the teeth and often overlooks the facial context. | Not considered. |
| Long-term stability | Bite and gum-health considerations are addressed as part of the plan. | Depends on the individual case. | Underlying issues may worsen. |
| Patient satisfaction outcomes | Significantly higher — DSD improves predictability and communication. | Moderate — the result may not meet expectations. | Dissatisfaction with appearance may continue. |

Why the Clinical Approach Matters
Aesthetic dentistry is one of the most technically demanding areas of restorative dentistry because even small errors can be visible. A 0.5 mm difference in tooth length, an uneven gum line, or a shade difference between adjacent restorations can be immediately noticed by the patient and anyone they meet. The clinical approach used before and during treatment determines whether these errors occur.
International peer-reviewed studies have identified three consistent variables that distinguish predictable from unpredictable aesthetic outcomes: using digital planning tools before irreversible treatment begins, following a structured multidisciplinary treatment sequence, and integrating facial proportions into tooth design rather than planning only at the level of the dental arch.
A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis indexed in NIH/PMC found that AI-assisted Digital Smile Design produced significantly higher patient and clinician satisfaction scores than traditional planning, with significantly higher satisfaction reported across all included studies when digital visualisation was used beforehand.
What Does the Research Show?
100% — The studies included in the 2025 NIH/PMC systematic review reported that DSD-guided treatments produced higher patient satisfaction, treatment acceptance, and aesthetic ratings than conventional approaches.
In summary, the psychosocial impact of dental aesthetics is measurable and significant. Dissatisfaction with smile appearance is directly associated with lower self-esteem, reduced confidence in social communication, and limited participation in professional activities. These outcomes improve significantly after successful aesthetic rehabilitation.
Critically important — Multidisciplinary collaboration between restorative, periodontal, and prosthodontic specialties is identified as essential, not optional, for achieving a harmonious and clinically stable aesthetic smile result over time.

Diamond Smile Standards
No preparation before the preview
You see and approve a simulation of the result before any tooth is prepared. If the simulation does not meet your expectations, we adjust the design, not the tooth.
Ceramics selected and fabricated to the design
Your final restorations are fabricated at a certified laboratory according to the digital design you approved, not from a generic shade guide. Shade characterisation is carried out under natural and artificial lighting conditions.
Every selected component has a reason
The treatments in your plan are selected based on clinical assessment, not offered as a fixed package. You are given a clear explanation of why each treatment is recommended and how it contributes to the final result.
International patient treatment includes
